Sarisa Adami
Visual Artist | Painter | Architect
Born in Tehran and raised in a home where creativity was a natural part of everyday life, Saris Adami’s artistic journey began in childhood. Surrounded by poetry, music, and Persian art, she was deeply inspired by the rich cultural heritage of her homeland. The vivid colors of Persian cuisine, the poetry woven into everyday conversations, and the thoughtful beauty in her family’s way of living became early influences in her visual language.
Saris comes from a family where art was not just appreciated , it was lived. Her father, Zahed, a man of kindness, generosity, and deep aesthetic sensibility, fostered her love for creativity. Though not a painter himself, he surrounded their home with art and encouraged expression in all forms. His influence, both in spirit and in vision, continues to shape Saris’s work today.
She began painting at the age of five, seeing it as a quiet companion , a visual language that grew with her. Over the years, this relationship with painting deepened, even as she pursued formal studies in architecture at Azad University in Tehran. Her passion for space, structure, and beauty later led her to Dubai, where she explored the blend of art and architecture firsthand, and then to Sweden, where she earned a Master’s degree in Urban Design.
Through all these transitions, painting remained her most intimate form of expression. Her current body of work , Incomplete Miniatures , draws inspiration from Persian miniature art and the mythical narratives of the Shahnameh. These pieces explore the hidden, often silent, layers of human emotion. For Saris, art is not just a visual experience , it’s an act of unveiling: revealing the unseen, awakening dormant feelings, and expressing the poetry of the soul.
Her work invites viewers into an introspective journey, bridging past and present, myth and memory, personal and universal. With each brushstroke, Saris continues the legacy of storytelling rooted in her heritage , one that values love, beauty, and the courage to feel deeply.
