Kirsti Pettersen

Norwegian Artist

A Norwegian painter whose practice is deeply rooted in narrative, timelessness, and emotional truth.

Born in the coastal town of Flekkefjord, Kirsti has followed a lifelong passion for painting and classical music. After two decades working in design and art direction in Copenhagen, she returned to Norway to devote herself fully to painting.

Trained for seven years under Jan-Ove Tuv and currently mentored by Sebastian Salvo , both former pupils of the legendary Odd Nerdrum — Kirsti’s approach is grounded in the techniques of the old masters. Her palette, inspired by Apelles, and her storytelling instincts create works that are both visually harmonious and emotionally resonant.

Through her paintings, she explores themes of sacrifice, longing, and love , drawing on personal experience to craft scenes that feel both intimate and universal.
