Oluwaseyi Olaide is a multidisciplinary and experimental visual artist based in Lagos, Nigeria. His practice blends traditional techniques with unconventional materials, exploring themes of human relationships, cultural identity, and emotional connection.
Working across painting, drawing, collage, and mixed media, Oluwaseyi often incorporates recycled and found objects into his works, sparking dialogue around sustainability and the creative reimagining of everyday life. Inspired by cubism, impressionism, and lived experiences, his art seeks to evoke wonder, joy, and reflection — encouraging viewers to find beauty in the unexpected and meaning in the overlooked.
Born and raised in Lagos, Oluwaseyi has been passionate about art since childhood, naturally drawn to drawing, painting, and mixed media craft. He holds a Higher National Diploma in Art & Industrial Design (Painting major) from Lagos State University of Science and Technology, Ikorodu (formerly LASPOTECH), class of 2013. He also earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE) in 2019.
In his own words, Oluwaseyi describes his work as a tool to “preach a message of hope, love, and emotion.” Through layers of diverse media , including charcoals, paints, magazines, fabrics, cartons, and plastics , he creates artworks that invite audiences to pause, reflect, and discover fragments of their own stories within his.
